Microbiome Taxa by Body Site
This section complements the workflow pages by showing the dominant microbes that commonly appear at different human body sites. Each body-site page uses an interactive taxonomy navigator so you can move from phylum to class, order, family, genus, and representative species.
For now, the site includes the intestinal microbiome, with colors anchored to the major gut phyla highlighted throughout the tree:
- Actinomycetota — purple
- Bacteroidota — blue
- Bacillota — green
- Pseudomonadota — red
The goal is to make it easy to connect high-level ecological patterns (“Bacteroidota-rich community”) to the lower-level taxa you often see in profiling tables or papers.

Intestinal microbiome
Explore an interactive phylogenetic tree of representative gut taxa, including major clades within Actinomycetota, Bacteroidota, Bacillota, and Pseudomonadota.
As additional body-site pages are added, this section can expand to oral, skin, vaginal, and respiratory microbiomes while keeping the same navigation pattern and color logic.
